Yesterday is a good channel for documentaries and subjects relating to history and science, as well as antiques, archaeology, UFO’s and natural history. Some of the programmes that you may like to have a look at are, In Search of Science with Prof Brian Cox, where some of the subjects tackled include genetic modification and nuclear bombs. The Planets looks in to our solar system using computer programs and looks at things like the discovery of frozen lava plains on Venus. Time Team is always interesting and worth watching, there’s still so much hidden beneath the earth that you never know what they might come across next.
There are numerous documentary programmes about the war, including Colditz the Legend and Shot Down: Escape From Nazi Europe. Raiders of the Lost Past looks at things such as the the pile of gold that is said to lay buried under the Rocky Mountains in Canada, and the curse that seems to affect people who seek to find the gold. Other offerings include Antiques Roadshow, Cash in the Attic, Countryfile, UFOs Declassified, The Re-Inventors, Vikings, The Life of Birds and South Pacific, this series takes a look at the South Pacific islands, where their isolation has lead to the creation of animals such as flesh eating caterpillars and gant crabs. There’s definitely something for everyone on this channel. Yesterday TV Guide (opens new window)
